Destination wedding on mind but no idea where to start? We've located nine best destinations in Pakistan which can make your wedding memorable.

The bandwagon started right after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tied the knot at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle, United Kingdom. May it be Bollywood stars like Anushka Sharma and Virat Kholi, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh or businessmen like Ambanis getting married, destination weddings are surely the new talk of the town.

It's time to add Pakistan in the list because of the breath-taking destinations it withholds. Here is a list of venues that not only guarantee an aesthetic view but also promise to make your dream wedding come true.


1. Hiran Minar

If you plan to revive all Mughal traditions for your wedding, Hiran Minar standing amid of a lake with its red-brown bricks is the perfect destination for you. It is located near Shiekhupura, a few kilometers away from Hafizabad Road, at a height of 100 feet built in the memory of an antelope by emperor Jehangir decades ago. The octagonal pavilion, which previously served as a royal retreat, could be the perfect spot for pre-wedding events like mayoon or mehndi.

2. Khanpur Dam

All Islamabadis out there, here’s a way to out blast your wedding in a night outdoor setting. Very few know that the Khanpur Dam is located about 40kms from Islamabad, on the Haro River near Pothohar Pleateau in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK). If you’re a fan of scenery, Khanpur is truly ‘THE’ destination for your wedding.

3. Khaplu Palace:

Looking for a royal place between the mountains? Khaplu Palace in Gilgit Baltistan was built years ago for that dreamy wedding you always fantasized of. Khaplu Palace is accessible from Islamabad through a 55 min flight, and then a 2-hour drive. Albeit a difficult journey, the beauty of the destination makes up for all the backaches. Imagine getting a photo shoot of yourself alongside your beau in the mountains – an image straight out of dreams.

4. Rohtas Fort

Individuals dreaming of having a destination wedding, the Rohtas Fort in Jhelum is the ideal location for you. The architecture of the fort is a fusion of Afghani and Indian art, that will compliment the customs you intend to follow and leaving the guests awestruck. As the couple would enter through the Fort’s monumental gateways and step down the broad stairway, it would be nothing less than a fantasy with a desi touch.

5. The Swat White Palace

How about exchanging your vows inside a palace made of white marble? The Swat White Palace in Marghazar was the palace of the first king of Swat, Miangul Abdul Wadud. An interesting fact, the white marbles of this structure were brought from a marble quarry in India, the same place from which Taj Mahal’s marbles came from.

6. Badshahi Mosque

In Pakistan, weddings are not just a celebration of the union of two individuals, but also the connection between two extended families. A breathtaking view, mind-blowing lights, and beautiful architecture makes Taj Mahal the perfect place to tie the sacred knot at. Additionally, it isn’t even heavy on your pockets, the Nikaah service at the mosque costs PKR 25,000. As for food for the guests, it’s Lahore, you get food everywhere!
